Lead Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data science projects from inception to completion, including goal-setting, scope definition and ensuring on-time delivery with cross team collaboration.
• Perform advanced data analysis, modeling, and machine learning to develop predictive and prescriptive models that drive business outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and domain experts, to identify opportunities and address business challenges.
• Be responsible for the overall AI system design, problem framing and governance, identifying and managing risks and issues.
• Design, develop and implement data science strategies that drive measurable business results.
• Design experiments for the team to rapidly test ideas and assumptions, and identify future courses of action.
• Develop production-level code using Python, ensuring scalability and integration with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Communicate technical findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear, easy and concise way, keeping the stakeholders in mind.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects, models, and code for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in data science and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (1+ years) in leading the analysis and modeling of different datasets and overseeing an inception to deploying and productionizing the models.
• Proven experience (5+ years) with statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, machine learning, deep learning, optimization , Gen-AI or other data science techniques to implement end-to-end data science projects.
• Expertise in prompt engineering for fine-tuning language models like GPTs or similar models.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, as well as relevant data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Analyse datasets using statistical and visualization techniques to identify patterns, trends and relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrate clear and thorough logical and analytical thinking, as well as problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience working in a cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure) environment is a plus

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English
