Back End Engineer | Red Digital

Red Digital is looking for a result-oriented, innovative Engineer that has experience in backend and data systems to join the team! The ideal candidate will have experience in both server side web application development and working with data warehouses. This person will be interacting with engineers and stakeholders at all levels. Strong communication skills are a must along with having the ability to collaborate well with others. This individual will be responsible for promoting a collaborative and communicative culture as partners of one of our major clients in Red Digital by providing resilient and scalable web systems as well as robust and industry leading data pipelines.

What You'll Do:

• Drive business results through a blend of backend software development and data engineering.
• Build and maintain resilient and scalable backend containerized systems which produce data that is then transformed into business insights.
• Design and build data pipelines from various sources to data warehouses using batch or incremental loading strategies utilizing cutting-edge cloud technologies like Databricks, Redshift, Fivetran, Airflow and others.
• Continually look for opportunities to build value in the codebase: setting & enforcing standards, optimizing existing processes to improve cost and runtimes, and automating processes to make yourself and your team better and faster.
• Be part of building a positive team environment and culture.

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of back-end/server-side web application development
• 3+ year experience working with data warehouses
• Proficiency in working with Restful API Services
• Proficiency in version control tooling (GitHub), CI/CD processes (GitHub Actions), and general development processes
• Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Typescript, SQL, Python
• Comfortable with cloud technologies such as Azure, Databricks, AWS, & Redshift
• Comfortable working in a test-driven development environment
• Comfortable working with (or understand the benefits of) monitoring tools such as New Relic, Data Dog, Monte Carlo
• Comfortable working with (or understand the benefits of) infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform or Cloudformation

Even Better

• Experience with DBT, especially on cloud data warehouses
• Experience with data tooling such as Airflow, Fivetran, & Hightouch

Compensation

• Charlotte Compensation Range: $80,000 - $110,000
