Rebellion's Mission Success teamwork is the voice of the customer and has a close partnership to identify and understand our Rebellion and customers outcomes.  Mission success is responsible for deployment of Rebellion software to our customers to solve their areas of concern. 

Impact: 

The Deployment Engineering team in Mission Success will be focused on deploying Rebellion product offerings to the federal government. We’re passionate about solving complex operational problems with an eye toward simplicity, efficiency and automation. We’re looking for individuals who share that passion to join our team in making this a reality. Additionally, this position may require up to 25% travel.

This role reports to Jay Ortman, Technical Program Manager. 

What your mission is: 

As a DevOps Engineer in Mission Success Team, you will help execute the deployment process and systems to autonomously orchestrate the software lifecycle and deploy Rebellion software offerings to our customers. This includes:

  • Deploy Rebellion’s products into internal Rebellion and external customer  environments
  • Understand and employ Agile software development best practices
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues in order to fix bugs in software or hardware components
  • Provide tier 2  technical support to rebels/clients in order to help troubleshoot issues
  • Works with Technical Program Manager and Deployment manager to execute deployment plans to deliver value to customers
  • Leverage technology to monitor deployment health for Rebellion offerings
  • Deploy new systems, update and sustain existing systems, or decommission old systems as needed
  • Maintain documentation of all steps taken during each deployment project
  • Help to create customer documentation for new software releases or hardware updates
  • Support onboarding and training as needed
  • Test new software releases to ensure that they work as expected
  • You will partner with Technical Program Management to ensure alignment with customer expectations and Rebellion outcomes.
  • You will balance customer and business needs versus technical constraints and make the appropriate tradeoffs to maximize time to value
  • Understand the current technical landscape and be able to have technical conversations with customers
  • Build cross-functional relationships, especially with product and engineering teams, throughout Rebellion to deliver on a  customer deployment
  • Be a thought leader on how to Rebellion delivers deployment value to our customers

You may be fit for this role if your expertise aligns to: 

  • Can thrive in ambiguous environments and take on problem-solving,
  • Experience as a technical lead, owning the delivery of a major software capability or complex application
  • Knowledgeable about software engineering best practices and have experience writing clean code that’s easy to test and maintain.

Skills:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) 
  • Understand DORA metrics deployment frequency (DF), lead time for changes (LT), mean time to recovery (MTTR), and change failure rate (CFR) and other applicable metrics
  • Operate and optimize CI/CD pipelines for prem deployments and disconnected operations
  • Understanding and implementation of deploying Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Deploy software and related updates for production, testing and development.
  • Promptly resolve any hosting or deployment related issues in production services.
  • Design, develop and modify automated deployment and provide input to monitoring
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on services
  • Develop and run load and automated testing of online services
  • Assist with software and tools development, including prototyping new approaches
  • Assist the Security Engineer with security auditing and reviews of Rebellion software offerings
  • Produce overview and workflow documents relating deployment on various types of infrastructure
  • helps automate the process to minimize errors, time, and release cycles
  • Communicate release milestones and related dependencies
  • Implement and manage Automated Deployment Capability
  • Implement and manage Continuous Integration Capability
  • Implements Version Control to maintain and monitor the code in version control repositories like Git 
  • Find automation tools to improve the speed and reliability of the release process. 
  • Monitoring the code through the various cycles of the development (testing, staging, and production), configuration management ensures the software lifecycle.

The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $180,000 to $220,000 regardless of final candidate location within the US. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.  Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Rebellion Defense. The Nature of our Work: 

We are driving fast change to an extremely regulated industry. Many of the national security programs that are supported by Rebellion’s products operate in secure environments and access to those spaces and the data in them may require an active personnel security clearance. It is a requirement of this position that you are able to obtain and hold a personnel security clearance at the right level.
