Department Overview 

To provide high-quality mobile communication services at reasonable prices, Rakuten Mobile is the fourth MNO (mobile network operator) approved in Japan for the first time in 13 years. In August 2021, it exceeded 5 million lines and is growing rapidly.

Full-scale provision of services to corporations began in January 2023, and large-scale investments are being made as core businesses that will support the growth of the Rakuten Group in the future.

This department will be responsible for providing solutions focused on mobile services for corporate customers. You will be participating in the business as a core member for business expansion.

Why We Hire  

Rakuten Mobile has launched a series of new mobile service initiatives for corporate customers. To meet customers’ needs and expand our service line-up, we are looking for a knowledgeable network architect to further contribute to service planning in the network field.

Developing new value-added telecom carrier services (e.g. next-generation networks, voice DX) to support mainly small and medium-sized enterprises and meet market needs. You will participate from the planning stage and take initiatives from architecture design to implementation support.

Position Details  

To meet the market needs of corporate business activities, we will sequentially roll out new carrier services (next-generation networks, voice DX). We are looking for individuals who can participate from the planning stage and provide architecture design and implementation support to actualize these services. 

Your responsibilities

- Mobile network-related service planning (rate plans, closed networks, FMC, call recording, etc.)

- Various coordination tasks including scheduling with in-house engineers and vendors

- Network design and architecture coordination for mobile connectivity, IP networks, etc.

- Operation design, development of operation manuals

- Service Implementation support

Mandatory Qualifications: 

- At least 2 years' experience in corporate business development or planning

- Japanese: Business Level

Desired Qualifications: 

- Experience in mobile core network (LTE and 5G core) construction and carrier network development

- Experience in member management, vendor management and project management

- Experience in planning, building and operating telecom services for telecom carriers and IT vendors

- Knowledge of voice services in general (lines, equipment, market trends)

- Experience in using English at business level(verbal communication skill is required)
