Business Overview

The Marketing Division leads branding, brand asset creation, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with a mission to expand Rakuten Group's membership value and ecosystem of over 70 services.

Department Overview

Over the past years, Rakuten has strengthened its brand on a global scale through various branding and brand communication initiatives such as rebranding and sponsorships. On the other hand, as reflected in the Rakuten Shugi of "Always Improve, Always Advance," as we continue to strengthen the Rakuten brand, new challenges arise every day, and in this department, you can be involved in solving such high-level problems or innovating in ways that other companies do not have.

This team supports the branding and marketing activities of Rakuten Group HQ to improve the Rakuten Group's brand and business.

By making full use of the Rakuten Group's big data, Rakuten Point data, and panel survey data, we analyze the market environment of consumers and competitors from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives, and lead the formulation of the direction of brand enhancement and the PDCA cycle of implementing measures in parallel with related departments to achieve business goals.

Position Details

As a cross-functional marketing organization, we collaborate daily with various stakeholders, including individual service business units and executive management, beyond just our own team. Our role involves providing "analytical solutions and platforms, or insights derived from understanding customer needs and behaviors based on data," primarily in the areas of branding and marketing both domestically and internationally. These efforts contribute to business growth and enhance customer loyalty and favorability.

One of the strengths and attractions of the Rakuten Group is the vast and diverse range of data we handle. This includes not only quantitative and qualitative research but also behavioral data and transaction data linked to Rakuten ID. Recently, we have been accelerating our contributions to the business by leveraging AI to further enhance our capabilities.

**Specific Responsibilities Include:** 

- Analyze Rakuten's brand/marketing issues and customer needs, and suggest directions based on these analysis
- Verify the effectiveness of each branding/marketing measure and formulate an effective improvement action plan

Work Environment

The team primarily consists of members in their 20s and 30s, creating a very energetic and dynamic environment. Each member leverages their individual strengths while collaborating effectively on tasks. Communication is active, making it easy to exchange opinions and share ideas. Additionally, the team fosters a culture that welcomes new challenges and has a strong support system in place to encourage individual growth. The atmosphere is characterized by a sense of camaraderie, where the entire team works together to improve and grow.

Mandatory Qualifications:

 - Over 4 years of practical experience in data analysis and/or consumer research within the marketing domain 

 

Desired Qualifications:

- - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment 

- Basic skills in creating materials and presentation abilities

- Fundamental proficiency in using Microsoft Office 

- Practical experience in using SQL and Python for analysis 

- Research experience in both quantitative and qualitative 

- Work experience utilizing tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics 

- Knowledge and understanding of web and app services, as well as the digital domain
