Your day-to-day  

As a Sr. Software Engineer on our Platform/Infrastructure team, you will contribute to the writing and maintaining tools written in Go, Groovy, Terraform, etc., used to manage container deployments on K8S and cloud infrastructure. You will also be helping development teams adapt these tools and practices and use your experience in infrastructure management to contribute to automation, better observability, and security practices.

You have a proven technical background and enjoy working with high-performance teams. You enjoy helping to improve developer productivity by improving the tools and assisting them as needed, as well as an eagerness to learn and pick up new technologies as required. You understand the benefits CI/CD brings to modern architecture and can empathize with the challenges of engineers not having one. You believe in the model of self-service and automation and thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment.     

Must haves

• Proficiency in Software Development: Demonstrated expertise in coding with a strong command of GoLang, showcasing the ability to architect, develop, and maintain robust software solutions.

• Solid Foundation in Systems: Possessing a deep understanding of system architecture and design principles, capable of architecting scalable and reliable systems.

• Expertise in Observability: Extensive experience in implementing and leveraging observability tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, and OpenTelemetry to ensure the observability and performance of distributed systems. Familiarity with monitoring platforms, including Splunk, SignalFx/Splunk Observability, and Datadog.

• Proficient in Multi-Cloud Environments: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure, including expertise in deploying, managing, and optimizing applications in multi-cloud environments.

• Network Debugging Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities in network-related issues, including proficiency in Kubernetes (K8s) networking and cloud networking to ensure seamless communication between distributed components.

• Expertise in Kubernetes (K8s): In-depth knowledge and practical experience in managing containerized applications using Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.

• Proficiency in Terraform: Skilled in infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, focusing on using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently and reliably.

• Experience in Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance within software systems and processes.

Nice to have

• Java, Typescript Experience with container and lifecycle technologies like Kubernetes, EKS, Mesos
