The Role 

We are looking for an experienced and technical Engineering Director to take accountability for a group of Engineering teams while engaging in long-term strategic decisions as we build out our platform and drive our ability to scale. We believe that best products are built by empowered Product Teams that can solve for the right business and customer outcomes. In this role you will be responsible for enabling your teams to reach their full potential by ensuring that they have the shared purpose and context necessary to build innovative solutions, whilst having influence and responsibilities across the Engineering department. 

Your day-to-day 

• Lead and mentor your Engineering Managers and Technical Leads to foster an empowered team culture of continuous growth and learning. 

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Product Design leaders, and other stakeholders to drive clarity on business outcomes and requirements. 

• Develop and build metric driven Engineering processes to ensure efficient delivery of business outcomes, in a timely manner. 

• Support Technical Leads with platform architecture, infrastructure plans and design process, and provide guidance and technical expertise to solve complex problems. 

• Work closely with our Talent and Recruiting team to scale the team with top talent. 
   

What you bring to the team 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field. 

• Proven track record in leading multiple engineering teams to deliver cross-functional Product and Engineering initiatives. 

• Strong technical background in building scalable, performant enterprise grade SaaS platforms and products in AWS, or similar cloud service providers. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities across the Engineering department effectively, while contributing to shared goals, such as product security, incident management, customer support and developer experience. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in sharing the essence of Engineering decisions and trade-offs. 

• Prior experience in cybersecurity and/or email security is desirable.
