Description
We are seeking a data engineer to join our Research & Development team.

You will be an integral part in all stages of the research process including:

    • Gathering and preparing data for predictive modeling and other advanced analysis
    • Help the business through automation and operational efficiency of data processes
    • Refine, automate and document data collection processes in a fast-paced, complex and ever-changing environment
    • Develop technical solutions for data flow monitoring processes

Responsibilities

    • Maintenance, improvement, cleaning and manipulation of data in the business operational and analytics databases.
    • Analyze complex data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships and contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models
    • Work with software engineers, data analytics team in order to understand and aid in the database design, data flow requirements, implementation, performance and data analyses, and troubleshoot any existent issues.
    • Work in development and deployment of innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing.
    • Perform thorough testing and validation in order to support the accuracy of data transformations and data verification of day to day transactions and data used in machine learning models.
    • Monitor performance and implement disaster recovery, backup, automated testing, schema migration, and continuous deployment.

Requirements

    • 2+ years experience performing quantitative analysis, preferably for an internet or technology company
    • Expertise in SQL - extensive experience querying large, complex data sets. Knowledge of manipulating data using R, Python, SAS etc is a plus.
    • B.S. or B.A. in Math, Statistics, CS, Engineering, or other technical field required; advanced degrees a plus
    • Experience and certification in Snowflake or any data warehouse is PREFERRED
