Staff Software Engineer

We, at the Customer Security Services team, are responsible for Guard, Shield, and Control features HomePass and WorkPass apps. The set of features provides a suite of network threat protection and content and access control capabilities to protect, inform, and empower users to align the use of their network with the needs of their home or business. 

As a Staff SDE, your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of problems, designing and developing solutions end-to-end that include highly reliable and scalable distributed systems.
• Taking technical ownership of products, contributing to product capabilities and knowledge base can enable and sustain rapid product delivery at scale.
• Working with minimum technical supervision while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities.
• Working in full harmony with your team members to manage product iterations and day-to-day development activities, 
• Being a mentor for other engineers, and participate in designs, design reviews, code reviews, and full delivery of product releases

Basic qualifications

• 7+ years of hands on software development in any of these languages: Java/Scala/Go
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Strong OO methodology and design patterns
• Fluent communication skills in verbal and written English
• Experience working on at least two areas: large-scale distributed application development, machine learning, Unix/Linux environments, and deep-dive root-cause problem analysis.

Preferred qualifications

• Masters or further education or similar experience in any related computer science or engineering field
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with two or more general purpose OO programming languages including but not limited to: Java/Scala/Go
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as required
• Strong Analytical skills
