Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Sr. Database Engineer in Austin, TX to support the establishment of linear scale, highly available, fault-tolerant, globally distributed data and services platforms. Requires a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience utilizing cloud environment and databases to monitor and maintain database service performance. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience testing replication tools to improve quality, performance, and scalability; triaging and resolving customer database issues and communicating issues, resolution plans, and service impacts; designing and implementing automation for manual tasks to improve efficiency and set standards around software maintainability; collecting and publishing operational metrics and analyzing trends; developing queries to audit database and identifying data characteristics used to develop pre-assessment reports for database migration; converting customer schema using the schema conversion tool (SCT) and documenting bugs or issues to enhance the product; and automating the DDL deployment process using UCD (urban code deploy) in databases. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
