Backend Engineer - Mobile Data Team

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build and maintain a cloud-first backend system for large-scale location data collection.

The development is carried out with Mobile SDK Engineers, Data Scientists, Big-Data Engineers, Analysts, and Architects to deliver an innovative technological solution to location data collection and anonymization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be the main knowledge owner of backend and cloud technologies on the team.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
• Carry tasks end-to-end, from design to deployment, and take full ownership.
• Measure, analyze, and improve the performance, scalability, costs, and robustness of the product and processes.
• Assist team members to excel at their job by code and design reviews and technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Product, Analysts, and Data science teams in order to improve the product’s quality and deliver new features.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of professional backend experience (Java / Python / NodeJS / Go)
• Strong coding skills and a “get-things-done” approach
• Solid software design knowledge
• Experience with large-scale production systems 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

• Experience working with AWS
• Infrastructure skills like Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Understanding cloud cost monitoring
• DevOps experience.
