About the Role:

The Identity Management team is a stream-aligned team that owns the services that enable customers to authenticate and manage their user identity on the PitchBook platform. The team is looking to grow its Seattle footprint to scale its identity and access management services to support PitchBook’s continuous growth. The team is working to modernize its architecture as it migrates towards microservices, breaking down a monolithic application into smaller and more modularized components. You will collaborate with team members at a global scale to iteratively define and improve the future state of the identity platform. Members of this team will expand their knowledge and skillsets within the authentication and authorization frameworks (OIDC, SAML, Oauth2.0).

As a Software Development Engineer, Test within the Product organization, you will be responsible for delivering the next suite of backend services that power the PitchBook platform. You will be essential in helping to build exceptional solutions relied upon and used by thousands of PitchBook customers every day and work with PitchBook professionals around the world with the collective goal of delighting our customers and growing our business.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Work alongside developers and business stakeholders to strive to automate the acceptance criteria
• Responsible for building robust and high–quality test automation solutions for functional, regression and performance testing
• Create reusable scripts or tools wherever required
• Contribute to both functional and non-functional areas of testing. Functional testing includes testing from a functionality/requirements perspective and is largely driven by acceptance criteria or user stories. Non-functional testing includes performance and security testing
• Participate in design and architectural design discussions and provide effective feedback in code reviews

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar field
• 2+ years in Software Development or Testing roles within a medium or large enterprise
• Solid understanding of testing principles, testing types and methodologies
• Proficiency in RESTful Application Programming Interface design
• Experience working within a development team in an Agile environment
• Ability to be a team player who can also work independently
• Experience with web technologies and standards (e.g. JSON and JWT)
• Familiarity with Cloud technology platforms – like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Capable of writing reusable code/scripts, which can be applied to a wide variety of automation tasks, automation frameworks and more
• Basic understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts
• Understanding of the architecture of web applications and general client-server model
• Familiar with at least one front-end automation framework (e.g. Selenium) is a plus
• Familiar with Authentication/Authorization concepts is a plus

Compensation

• Annual base salary: $79,350-$134,550
• Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

 

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.
