Sr. Front End Engineer: Platform Admin Controls

The Platform Admin Controls Team builds capabilities that help both customers and Pendo be more productive.  We build tools that allow customers to administer their Pendo instance in a more self-service manner as well as giving Pendo engineering teams a front end platform to build the product on.  

As a Sr. Front End Engineer, you will be architecting large-scale projects that excel in performance, scalability, and maintainability while following the latest industry best practices in modern front end development.  You’ll be working on front end foundations (technical stack, documentation, shared libraries, etc.) for all of Pendo.  If you have an interest in collaborating with other development teams to provide front end platform support within an Agile framework, we invite you to apply and contribute to our innovative projects.

Deliverables (what you’ll do):

• Write maintainable, high-quality code that solves customer pain points
• Design solutions to large, complex, and/or ambiguous problems
• Learn Pendo’s coding standards and practices through code reviews
• Add input on code reviews, designs, and technical questions from within the team and the organization
• Implement unit & automated testing with Jest & Cypress to accompany code changes
• Quickly troubleshoot customer issues & implement solutions to address them
• Foster positive team discussions and decisions in epic and story groomings

Qualifications (what you have):

• 5+ years of experience writing Javascript code
• Experience working in modern frontend frameworks (VueJS, ReactJS, etc.) 
• Modern collaboration tools (such as git, npm, GitHub)
• Teamwork, collaboration, adaptability, passion for the frontend
• Strong attention to detail & understanding of trade-offs
• Strong Front End fundamentals in JavaScript, CSS, & HTML, working with APIs
• State management experience (e.g. Vuex, Redux, Flux, etc.)
• Obtained a 4-year technical degree or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• A passion for front end platform development
• Highcharts, D3, or other visualization libraries
• Vue experience
• TypeScript experience

Compensation

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Raleigh, NC is $130,000 - $145,000.

Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
