Summary
PCH Innovation Lab (Shenzhen), is looking for seasoned mechanical engineering expert experience in product development. Qualified candidates will be capable of designing reliable mechanical solutions to complex engineering challenges, be able to inspire existing team members of ME engineers to come out robust mechanical solutions to all levels of clients.
Day-to-day, you will be interfacing with PCH mechanical and electrical engineers and program managers, clients, as well as outside industrial design partners. Along the way, you will architect complete design solutions, create and refine individual component designs, and create engineering analyses to ensure your work is based on sound engineering principles.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for the quality of all mechanical engineering work on projects you lead, behavior as technical lead for complex projects during the whole PD phases, which including:
o Ensuring analytical rigor and mechanical justification supports the production design
o Specifying production materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances
o Identify key risks and prepare the mitigating plans
o Ensuring design solutions are optimized with regards to DFM and DFA
o Present as the key technical lead on design review meetings with client
o Be responsible for auditing an additional project besides your own, including review of CAD models, test data, and attending critical client meetings
o Help define the range and depth of engineering services offered to our clients
o Be exemplary in all 5 categories of performance: content creation, team play across the PCH organization, driving project decision-making, quality of work, and enhancing the performance of the mechanical engineering team as a whole
o Be staffed on the most technically challenging projects in the studio
o Be a knowledge center on at least one specific technology, engineering analysis, or design solution space
o Make himself or herself highly accessible to other engineers for consultation
o Make significant contributions towards elevating the performance of the ME team as a whole.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related, master’s degree in science or engineering is preferred
· 12+ years' experience as mechanical engineer, successfully delivering recognized robust and feasible models to the market; senior level with team management experience is preferred
· Experienced in product development process – from POC to DFM till MP with solid practice
· Hands on experience in using technical methodology, such as DOE, DFMEA, risk mitigating, TA and so on
· Excellent presentation skills to get technical solutions understood by all levels of internal teams and clients
· Fluent English speaking is a must
· Well know-how of materials, process, tooling, test and FATP is a must
· Patient, attention to details, creative and attitude of willing to “make it happen” is highly preferred.
