Software Engineer, Android

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly productive Software Engineer for Android mobile engineering team to develop and execute automated tests for various frontend and backend components within the PayPal platforms. Consumer Engineering mobile team is passionate about bringing world class mobile experience to consumers. We’re on a journey to reimagine quality of mobile experience and looking for a Software Android Engineer to work with us as we build this next generation mobile applications. 

Your day to day:

• Improve the overall functional testing coverage for Android mobile team 

• Design and implement new automation frameworks and automated tests 

• Provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements 

• Enforce clean code and excellent coding practices by conducting thoughtful code reviews 

• Evangelize quality in the Android mobile engineering team and guide engineers. 

• Develop and communicates quality technical processes, standards, and best practices to the team 

What do you need to bring:

• 4+ years of working knowledge and hands-on experience with Java/Kotlin in Android platform 

• Complementing experience in Espresso Test, Appium, Cucumber, UI Automator and Scripting desire 

• Proficient in writing clean, modular, reusable code using appropriate design patterns 

• Ability to develop a test framework from scratch with minimal supervision 

• Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment and build tools 

• Strong knowledge of QA concepts and deep experience in test design, debugging, and execution 

• Must be a team player and quick learner with the ability to manage multiple tasks 

• Proactive, excellent communication, and passionate about delivering high-quality products
