Enabling seem less releasing of software to production is the core goal of the Release platform team. As part of this agenda, we build CD pipelines and tools that set the standard for E2E SDLC. Our products are enterprise quality and enable deployments to a state of art hybrid cloud environment including public (GCP)and private cloud. With your expertise of Release Products, you will play an active role in the expansion of our practice by resolving client issues, driving client solutions, training other resources, and expanding PayPal capabilities.

Your day-to-day:​

• In this senior role for the Release platform team, you will use your past development and design experience as a full-stack engineer, and influence the direction, architecture and implementation of the Release platform & orchestration, and key capabilities of PayPal’s Developer experience platform.
• You will lead by example, and elevate the design, implementation, quality, and strong engineering practices across the team.
• Working together with leads and stakeholders in other Geos, you will contribute to future product and software direction. 
• Together with the engineering manager & product manager, you will be the key voice and representative of the Release platform to all developer teams.
• You will take responsibility for system design, implementation, quality, performance and support for designated key parts of the Release and Developer experience platform.
• You will contribute to enhancing the Agile practices of the team, working closely with the engineering manager.

What do you need to bring:​

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing scalable web services and platforms. 
• Experience in providing technical expertise & coaching to junior engineering peers. 
• Strong experience in some of the following technologies is necessary: Golang, Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, Node.js, React.js, Docker, Kubernetes, DB schema design.
• Experience in building scalable, observable and highly performant technology platforms is necessary.
• Knowledge of DevOps concerns and public cloud technologies is a huge positive.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. 
• BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
