Merchant Engineering’s mission is to simplify commerce by providing a one-stop payment platform for all customer segments. We are the customer-facing teams within Product and Platform Engineering building the touchpoints that interact with our customers across all stacks (PayPal, Braintree and Hyperwallet), across all channels (online and in-store, web and mobile) for our Merchants. Within Commerce Solutions and Services, PayPal’s Merchant Onboarding team is looking for a talented software engineer with strong application engineering fundamentals and JavaScript programming experience to design and build solutions supporting our merchant engagement strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient, elegant, clean, reusable code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction.
  • Deliver quality solutions on schedule.
  • Designing and implementing software that is simple, bug-free, intuitive, and easy to use with platform development mindset.
  • Participating and collaborating with Product Owner/ Cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
  • Monitor applications in production.
  • Triage, debug, and fix bugs.

 

 Basic Requirements: 

  • Strong applied experience. You’ve built, broken, and rebuilt software applications. We’re looking for creative thinkers who also know how to create real-world products. 
  • Experience or Familiarity with any or multiple of the following: Java, C++, Python 
  • Understanding of advanced object-oriented design and development principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Finally, A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things.

 

Recent Graduate Position Information and Requirements: 

  • This is a Recent Graduate Full-Time position. 
  • Must have graduated within the past 12 months, or will be graduating by Spring 2023, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Must reside in the U.S.  
  • Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S.

The U.S. National annual pay range for this role is $52,800 to $136,510.
