Site Reliability Engineer

Your way to impact Direct impact on the existing projects (EKS migration, Service Mesh, etc) in SRE Core Infrastructure team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of the biggest payments platforms that caters to 60 million active users and had a transaction volume of 159 billion dollars in 2020 alone. Your day to day

• Build upon and strengthen our AWS based cloud infrastructure.

• Partner with product engineering teams through PDLC on design, development, capacity planning, and ramp plans to ensure Venmo continues to scale and maximize availability.

• Ensure sufficient logging, monitoring and alerting strategies around availability, latency and overall system health.

• Scale systems sustainably through automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability.

• Host incident reviews and blameless post mortem.

•  Management policies, procedures, tools, and implementation.

What do you need to bring

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) 

• Experience with 24x7 on-call, incident management, writing root cause analysis with action items, etc. 

• Experience scaling and managing large cloud-based systems. 

• Proficiency with one object-oriented/object function scripting language: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc 

• Experience in designing and developing fault-tolerant and scalable distributed systems 

• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems. 

• AWS Solution Architect Associate / DevOps Certification  

• Experience with at least two from list below:

• ​Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS), containers and Kubernetes  

• AWS Networking Capabilities, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB)  

• Big data infrastructure: Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Kinesis, AWS CLI, etc. 

• Data Messaging (MSK, Kafka, SQS, etc.)  

• Database Services (DynamoDB, SQL etc.)  

• AWS IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, KMS, Certificate Manager 

• DSL languages like Terraform, Ruby DSL for CloudFormation, CDK, Docker, Helm, GitHub Actions, Puppet, etc.
