Your way to impact- 

As an engineer in Global Fraud Risk - Automation team, you will work closely with analytical team, understand the requirement with cutting-edge algorithm, and majorly contribute to the core strategy/solution automation platform, transform research work to real products. We are looking for strong technologists who are passionate to solve machine learning problems and able to continuously deliver AI solutions in scalable way.
 

Your day to day –

• Design, develop and maintain machine learning/automation platform, integrate machine learning algorithms into E2E automation pipeline, build up AI applications and UI portal. The platform/infrastructure will be used to automate machine learning strategies/solutions for PayPal global risk management, making sound decisions that balance risk, user experience and financial performance.
• Develop automation tools which could be used to reduce human efforts and improve efficiency
• Identify and address problems and issues during normal course of work and respond to risk mitigation needs quickly to solve issues with minimum guidance.
• Develop and automate tracking functionality that monitors volume and solution efficacy. Regularly evaluate and communicate performance of automated strategies and solutions to management.
• Participate in the formulations and implementation of departmental processes, procedures, policies and standards.
• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results on matters of significance to the business.
• Look for improvement and innovation opportunities with business impact. Provide a source of high quality ideas.

What do you need to bring-

• Proficient/Hand on with Python, Javascript, SQL etc., familiar with Unix, Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive etc.
• Hands on web application development skill (HTML5/CSS/JS)
• Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent problem solving skills, can triage and resolve critical tech issues without supervision.
• Expertise required in object-oriented design methodology and application development
• Experience in big data technology such as Hadoop/Spark
• Knowledge on Machine Learning application pipeline is a very big plus
• Proven experience in employing engineering/analytics solutions on real world problems.
• Proven ability to work independently and proficiently on well-defined projects; Focuses primarily on how to achieve overall business objectives of a project with speed and quality
• Effective inter-personal skills. Manage relationship with key partners across different functions. Able to collaborate with remote teams effectively.
• Skilled in Presenting – can effectively communicate in large or small group settings.

You Must Also Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or engineering field with 3+ year professional work experience in a relevant field. Or Master’s degree with 2+ year profession experience.
• Fluent in English.
• Industry experience in payments, e-commerce, or financial services is a strong plus.
