What you need to know about the role- Venmo's App Powered Commerce org is looking for an iOS Engineer, who can work on customer facing mobile Application. Should have at least 5y of experience in iOS development, coding in Swift and releasing apps in the App Store. Meet our team This role is to bolster our backend portion of the team. The team is full-stack with native iOS and Android engineers, as well as backend engineers. We work together to deliver helpful and interesting features for our users like instant add funds, direct deposit, special offers/rewards, and more! This team is part of Venmo CFS (Consumer Financial Services). We’re called the Debit Card Team, sometimes referred to as Money Services.

Venmo is looking for an iOS - Sr Staff Software Engineer to join the team to deliver high quality, secure products to millions of users. The successful candidate will work closely with the entire product development team during all phases software development and lifecycle. You will work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and experimentation are a given.

• 5+ years experience in iOS Development.
• Experience developing, maintaining and innovating large scale, consumer-facing mobile applications.
• Experience working on mobile applications at scale. Related technologies include Swift, XCode, etc.
• Strong record of collaboration with multiple teams and platforms to deliver and support major projects and features.
• Deep understanding and knowledge around consuming GraphQL and REST APIs from iOS applications
• Ability to understand and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences in a remote environment.
• Experience mentoring and developing software engineers.
• Strong understanding of testing best practices and familiarity with at least one testing framework for iOS.
• Intimate knowledge of common design patterns, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.

Your day to day

• Work within a business profile growth team on a given set of features and services
• Architect, design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment
• Design, build, and maintain features for Venmo's app
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the features
• Build monitoring for all your applications and tasks to ensure their reliability and health
• Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills to create excellent products at PayPal
• Work closely with a product manager for your team on product requirements and translating those requirements to technical solutions
