Machine Learning Engineer

What you need to know about the role- SRE Labs which is part of the PayPal Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization is looking for an experienced Data Scientist with strong statistics and predictive analytics background, to help build the next generation solutions powered by AI. This position involves full-time hands-on development in a scrum team. The person is expected to be highly competent technically and be able to collaborate well with engineers & stakeholders. Your day to day

In your day to day role you will,

• Be a thought leader in understanding the core problems and build relevant analytics based solutions.
• Harmonize data as required and setup models according to the business logic defined.
• Conceptualize the analytical solution for the business problem by implementing statistical models.
• Hands on experience working with Python programming language ,develop API's using Flask/Fast API .
• Experience working with NLP and build solutions based on Large Language models like BERT and GPT
• Communicate insights to business & other stakeholders with careful attention to detail, high quality along with effective storytelling.
• Work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
• Deploy ML models in production.

What do you need to bring-

• You have a Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience. 
• You have 2+  years of experience analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets and synthesizing insights into actionable solutions.You have experience of working on end-to-end data science pipeline: problem scoping, data gathering, EDA, modelling, insights, visualizations, monitoring and maintenance.
• You have good understanding of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, statistical inference, regression).
• You should be able to write production ready code in python to deploy the models
• You have experience with commonly used ML techniques and models (Regression, Classification, Time-Series Forecasting, Tree Based models, Neural Networks, Statistical techniques etc)
• You have extensively used  large language models to build NLP based solutions .
• You have knowledge of deep-learning frameworks like Pytorch/Tensorflow
• You have worked in a scrum team for at least a year and practice agile methodologies. 
• You have good analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
