What you need to know about the role- The Merchant Engineering (ME) team is looking for a talented, self-driven, engineering program manager. The Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our merchant engineering team, ensuring the delivery of timely and effective to our merchants. The role will be focused on teams within ME and will build a culture of data-driven decision-making to the teams. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding merchant service. Meet our team- This role will facilitate the program operation of merchant engineering team, which is developing PayPal merchant end-to-end payment solutions and expanded services. The team is taking people first, work customer back and One team to win together.

This role will play an key role on daily operation for merchant engineering org. You'll work closely with the organization’s business operation, finance and other cross functional department to ensure the key metrics aligned, and strategic programs executed smoothly.

Your day-to-day role: 

  • Continuous Improvement Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy for the merchant service function, aligned with organizational goals and objectives. 

  • Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of service management processes and establish benchmarks for performance improvement. 

  • Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement, and use insights to drive data-driven decision-making. 

  • Partner across teams to streamline forecasting and analytics on day-to-day engineering operation to ensure an optimal deliveries.  

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, finance, operations, engineering to identify improvement opportunities, address challenges, and drive alignment with organizational objectives. 

 

What you need to bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, and performance measurement techniques is a must: SQL, database.

  • Strong understanding of engineering management frameworks and software development lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and driving measurable business outcomes.
