Android Developer

• Develop and maintain high performing, reusable Java and Kotlin code and stay current with the newest mobile technologies.
• Mentor juniors in the team and help them sharpen their technical finesse.  
• Reduce tech-debt and have a plan to remove them from the system.  
• Work independently with minimal supervision in a team to define, design, implement, test, release rollout and support software applications for PayPal.  
• Work with product owners to crystallize the technical needs during grooming and planning meetings also with engineering managers, engineers, and QA to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs.
• Define and develop processes, tools and methodologies to achieve excellence in software development, testing and deployment, follow coding standards and guidelines with attention to performance, scalability, and availability. 

What do you need to bring:

• 3+ years of Android development experience with solid Java and Kotlin programming skills  
• Solid understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. 
• Experience building Android applications connected to RESTful APIs.  
• Practical knowledge on Android architecture and solid knowledge of algorithms with good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.  
• Experience with a version control system (GIT, SVN, CVS, etc).  
• Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications.  

Language requirement: 

• Proficient (B2: Upper-Intermediate) in both written and spoken English.

In your day-to-day role, you will:

• Improve the overall regression testing coverage across our platforms.
• Design and implement new automation frameworks and automated tests.
• Debug and fix existing failed automated test cases.
• Help determine which tests can and should be automated.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

What do you need to bring:

• 3+ years of working knowledge and hands-on experience with Java / Java script and Automation Testing.
• Proficient in writing clean, modular, reusable code using appropriate design patterns
• Ability to develop a test framework from scratch with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment and build tools.
• Strong knowledge of QA concepts and deep expertise in test design, debugging, and execution and ability to drive E2E programs and work with multiple teams.
• Experience in Cypress, Espresso, Appium.
