Staff iOS Engineer - Community

We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator tools with the best team in the creator economy, and are looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to support our mission.

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Role

The Community Team was created to help creators better connect with their fans, as well as help fans engage with each other in deeper and more meaningful ways. The team works on both net-new and existing products, such as Chats.

We are looking for product-minded engineers with a passion for deepening the relationships between creators and fans.

About You

• 8+ years of experience in product software development

• Build, drive, iterate, and ultimately own the success of community features on Patreon’s iOS application.

• Interact with real creators to prototype ideas and gather feedback

• Scale thoughtfully: Given the dynamic nature of communities (think: AMAs or a highly anticipated release that everyone wants to chat about), the technical solutions on this team must work for both small, large, and “bursty” communities alike.

• Improve the reliability, performance, and stability of Patreon’s iOS codebase

• Work with a fully cross functional team to define and deliver new product features

• Build a strong product-minded engineering culture by mentoring and guiding other iOS engineers.

• Advise on technical architecture for this and adjacent teams, helping other teams build on top of Chats and Community successfully. Anticipate failure modes, find edge cases, and prevent issues from occurring early in the design process.
