Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (TypeScript & Cypress)

The Opportunity:

We’re hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with experience in TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern testing framework like Cypress, Playwright or Testcafe.  You’ll work across multiple technologies and can help the team build exciting new features to support the Parsley Health mission.  You will join a remote team of passionate engineers reporting into one of our engineering leaders.  In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, design and customer reliability teams. Parsley Health is an outcome driven organization and your work will directly contribute to the company objectives:  expand the business nationally, improve activation, conversion, retention, and expansion of our healthcare products.

You will:

• Establish and evolve the Quality platform, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices, tools, and frameworks
• Develop innovative approaches, techniques, and solutions in the areas of Automation, Performance Engineering, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Shift Left, BDD, TDD, etc.
• Analyze how systems are being tested manually and identifying opportunities to reduce that time and effort through Automation
• Design and create robust automated test scripts and software to address business and technical use cases
• Maintain, support and extend our existing automation framework and automation suite 
• Research and stay up to date on the latest tools, technologies, trends, and approaches within the QE space and incorporate the ones that make sense.
• Participate in troubleshooting and triage issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
• Provide a deep understanding of programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, and Cypress
• Provide strong experience with Playwright, and X-Ray or similar frameworks

You are:

• Experienced with test frameworks, such as Cypress, Playwright, or Testcafe
• Experienced writing code in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experienced with designing, developing, and implementing Test Automation solutions across a variety of platforms and applications
• Experienced with CI/CD pipeline engineering and maintenance using tools like: X-Ray, Jenkins, etc.
• Experienced with testing web apps, mobile apps, and REST APIs
• Proficient with GCP
• Proficient with Agile process and best practices (Kanban, Scrum)
• Passionate for quality with a high level of attention for detail and proven ability to solve complex technical challenges
• Highly experienced in applying Quality Engineering techniques across the SDLC

Parsley Health is committed to providing an equitable, fair and transparent compensation program for all employees.

The starting salary for this role is between $144,500 / $170,000 / $212,500, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with candidates during the process.
