We’re looking for a passionate backend developer to join our growing Payment Services team. You’ll have the opportunity to work on our new Payment products, from design and development to testing and production.

We use the latest technologies and architecture with Java 17 hosted on AWS Cloud and Kubernetes for development and production.

The team:

Papaya is building the future of cloud based payroll services connected with state of the art home grown payment systems. Our team develops the core components enabling new payment services and integrations with external providers. You will be working closely with Payment architects and infrastructure developers to design and implement micro services, data layers and orchestrate new business flows.

You will:

• Integrate with the biggest payment providers out there and build new profitable payment routes
• Design and implement new requirements on our backend microservices and orchestrations
• Ensure high quality of backend code, including automated testing, design & code reviews
• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and design patterns in development and testing by consulting with Architects and mentoring your peers.

• Proven experience in Java using Spring (from work / school project, a must!)
• Experience in SQL and No-SQL Database systems (MySQL, MongoDb, from work / school project, a must!)
• High Proficiency in English - both written and spoken. This is essential for effective communication with our global partners and clients.
• Experience in building REST API’s (advantage)
• Experience in Financial industries - FinTech (advantage)

• Assess security risks and vulnerabilities in the existing architecture and work closely with the Infra group to prioritize and remediate the risk.  
• Leverage and enhance existing security tools, identifying gaps and recommending new solutions. 
• Implement security tooling in our CI/CD pipeline.  
• Identify security tools and lead the implementation from POC to Production 
• Monitor and triage security events.  
• Assist in investigating security related incidents. 
• Act as a focal point for cloud security related queries and strategies. 

• 5+ years of experience with DevOps methodologies and technologies including a deep understanding of cloud security best practices and main challenges. 
• Experience in at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure or GCP (AWS is preferred). 
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and microservices. 
• Experience with market-leading security tools (DDos, WAF, SAST, DAST, IDS/IPS, CSPM, DSPM, K8s security etc) 
• Strong Scripting & development skills  
• Experience with IaC technologies, preferably AWS and TF.

The Team:

Papaya is building the future of cloud-based Payroll and Payment services connected with state-of-the-art homegrown payment systems. We are building a new team to develop the core components that enable new services and connect existing ones. You will be working closely with architects and infrastructure developers to design and implement cloud infrastructure for all environments. We work closely with other R&D teams to develop integration strategies that fit their needs.

You will:

• Design and implement Papaya Global’s cloud infrastructure for all environments.
• Work closely with R&D departments located in Poland, Ukraine, and Israel.
• Own our production environments while managing stability, availability, and performance.
• Partner with R&D stakeholders to propose and implement holistic solutions that ensure scalability, reliability, and capability of supporting Papaya Global’s growth in the next few years.
• Review Papaya Global’s observability solutions and work closely with Platform stakeholders to propose a unified roadmap for a comprehensive observability solution that implements a self-service model and can be deployed in an automated way.
• Work with our Information Security team to improve network, application, and general security, and implement a vision for data isolation and internal and external data access policies.

• 9-14 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer.
• 9-14 years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Approaches infrastructure and technical challenges with a DevOps mindset.
• Extensive expertise in creating and managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Strong proficiency in at least one monitoring and logging tool (Splunk, Grafana, Coralogix, Datadog).
• Experience in at least two databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Proficiency in Bash scripting language and knowledge of Linux Systems.
• Proficiency in at least one automation scripting language (Go, Python, Nodejs).
• Experience with managing Kubernetes microservices in a GitOps way (ArgoCD Advantage).
• Excellent knowledge of container and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.

The team:

Papaya's Core team is responsible for the main business flows in the platform. Responsibilities include handling most of the payroll cycle aspects, onboarding employees with various integration options, overseeing employees cost plan and specific cycle updates calculations, payslips validation and publishing, and more. 

As part of the team, you will design new features with the Architecture and Product teams, planning and executing features critical to Papaya's business flow. On the backend, you will use Java with Spring Boot, NodeJS with Typescript, Micro-services, REST & GraphQL, messages queues, relational and no-SQL databases, and more. And on the FE, you will use Angular, React, Redux, Apollo GraphQL, Styled components, SCSS, and more.  

You will use SOLID and clean code principles while testing your code with unit, component, integration, and e2e tests.
