As an IT Support Engineer at OwnBackup you will be responsible for providing IT & Audio visual support to internal staff, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting the internal systems. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Global IT team, responsible for providing outstanding customer service to our employees.

Your Day-to-Day Role

  • Support for 800+ Mac users globally on laptops, including monitors, tablets, printers, peripherals, and applications.
  • Monitoring the service desk, identify the priority level of the service desk requests/tickets received and solving issues or reallocating to colleagues/raising with senior members of the team where applicable
  • Providing 2nd/3rd Line IT and audio visual support to end users locally and international sites on all local IT hardware and software issues.
  • Serve as Tier 2 Support and point of escalation for support engineers
  • Working across both support and project work
  • Deployment and upgrading of applications through JAMF according to policies in place.
  • Evaluate new releases, fixes, security updates etc., for supported applications and installation on all supported workstations platforms
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation as needed. (Responsible for proactively looking for ways to improve the imaging, deployment, and security patching processes)
  • Evaluate potential implementation of new applications as required
  • Create packages utilizing Jamf and 3rd party tools as required
  • Develop innovative solutions to improve IT and business processes
  • Identifying the cause of hardware and software failures and providing corrective action to rectify the problem.
  • Assist with audio visual hardware setups and break down, along with conference rooms and video conferences support
  • Provide support to other business units in the company as directed by IT management

Your Work Experience

  • 3-5 years experience supporting a Mac environment within a business environment
  • Previous experience supporting large organizations with offices in multiple geographies
  • Experience managing Apple specific Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience meeting SLAs such as customer satisfaction, initial response, and issue resolution times.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and the macOS command line; comfortable using Terminal to execute commands or run scripts.
  • Great problem-solving abilities, a curious nature, and a genuine interest in learning new technology in a fast-paced startup.
  • The ability to rapidly switch gears across tools while retaining focus on the bigger picture.
  • Working knowledge of the administration of Okta, G-Suite, Zoom and Slack applications
  • Conference Room and Audio Visual technology experience
  • Working knowledge of IT Networks
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgment and autonomy
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to explain complex topics in easy to understand and concise language with all levels of employees

Must Have Skills

  • Qualified Jamf 200 and above
  • MacOS, iOS Management and Deployment
  • Software Packaging and Deployment
  • Professional Google Workspace Administrator Accreditations (or equivalent work experience, 2 years or more)
  • Okta Certified Professional (or equivalent work experience, 2 years or more)
