As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Outmin’s real-time accounting platform that uses Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to provide accounting services at a large-scale for a growing customer base. You will report to and work closely together with the CTO.

- Design, develop and maintain Python-based data-intensive web applications
- Design, develop and maintain machine learning systems
- Collaborate with the product team to iterate on experiments and prototypes to test and validate product ideas, understand requirements and develop technical solutions that meet business goals in an agile manner
- Put quality first and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
- Ensure high availability, accuracy, scalability, and security of applications
- Contribute to the formation of an early-stage Engineering team from technology decisions and best practices to culture and ways of working
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Python-based software development
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience with Django, Flask or other Python web frameworks
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience in developing data-intensive applications and database design
- Experience developing cloud services, preferably AWS
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Practical understanding of agile principles and fluency in agile methodologies
- Adept ability to collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
- Customer-focused with strong business acumen
- Above-average passion for data and data-driven decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in the FinTech industry, working with accounting, payment, or similar systems
- Experience with AI/ML, designing and implementing production AI/ML systems
- Experience working in a startup environment
