What We're Looking for In An Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrable knowledge of DevOps culture and modern CI/CD best practices.
- Someone who is autonomous and can learn our environments, configurations, and systems quickly.
- Well versed in Amazon Web Services cloud solutions, architecture, related technologies and their interdependencies is a must
- Solid understanding and abilities with technologies/languages like Python, Linux shell scripts, configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible), Git, Groovy.
- Extensive experience using tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, AWS(EC2, EKS, IAM, S3) CloudFormation are the most critical, but experience with S3, EBS, and other services are a big plus.. Examples of other tools, etc. that would be nice to have include Apache, Nginx, Maven, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis. Don’t need to have in-depth experience with all of these, but this is representative of a good mix of skillset needed..
- Experience in Infrastructure as a Code - IAC - Terraform/Ansible/Cloud formation
- Working experience of modern engineering operations duties, including providing the necessary tools and infrastructure to support high performance development and QA teams.
- Working experience with providing a Platform-as-a-Service to development teams to promote development efficiency and reducing delivery risk.
- Strong optimization skills to improve performance, scalability, and usability of our applications.
- Ability and drive to collaborate with rest of team to research, design, develop, and implement automation release features and enhancements.
- A track record of writing clean, high quality, high performing, scalable code.
- Ability to influence, guide, and reinforce the adoption of standards and processes across the development teams.
- An individual who: can explain and demonstrate improvements in a given approach, provide alternative approaches with documented examples of anti-patterns, and is an empathetic team player.
Qualifications
- 6+ years as a software or systems engineer, with a minimum of 4+ years in release automation implementation.
- 4+ years’ experience in designing, building and managing large scale application infrastructure in AWS.
- Expert knowledge in some Configuration Management tool (preferably Ansible, but Chef and Puppet experience are fine)
- Expert knowledge in some Continuous Integration tool or platform (Jenkins & groovy pipeline is must).
- Expert knowledge in CICD concepts and toolchain development.
- Experience on Java and Angular is added advantage
- MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
