Senior Software Engineer (Full stack- Front end heavy)

The Consumer Tooling team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class home buying and selling experience for prospective customers by enabling a seamless home access and transaction process while providing Opendoor operators and agents with intelligent capabilities and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and services from concept to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Architect efficient and reusable frontend and backend systems that drive complex web applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to coding standards.
• Perform thorough testing to ensure the quality and reliability of the software.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to optimize performance and enhance user experience.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve development processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in both frontend and backend development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Strong experience with React.js or Angular for frontend development.
• Solid understanding of backend technologies such as Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and other web service architectures.
• Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and serverless computing.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
