Description

What is Developer Technology Engineering? We are a global organization whose mission is to drive innovation we see in the market towards our products. As recognized specialists across many domains, our work makes valuable contributions in two important ways. Our solutions are at the forefront of technology, advancing NVIDIA’s leadership in accelerated computing. Our discoveries generate learnings that benefit the Developer Community and provides guidance to help make our products better. NVIDIA's success in the advancement and availability of Artificial Intelligence has created incredible growth across the Company, and Developer Technology Engineering has been steadily growing to meet the demands for our services. We now have need for a leader to join and help continue our momentum.

What you’ll be doing:

As a DevTech Leader, you’ll define and lead all aspects of your team’s strategic technical and business initiatives, setting short- and long-term goals. You’ll make decisions in a demanding and dynamic environment. Core responsibilities include:

  • You’ll be directing a team of highly skilled technologists who work directly with the Developer Community. The DevTech mission is to research, analyze, and develop techniques to optimize performance of complex parallel algorithms and workloads on the NVIDIA platform (CPU and GPU). Your senior team members are self-directed professionals, while more junior engineers need your mentorship and guidance.

  • Driving Innovation: You and your team are visible and recognized domain experts. The findings from your team are valuable information that influences the design of next-generation hardware architectures, software, and programming models. This means close collaboration with research, hardware, system software, libraries, and tools teams at NVIDIA.

  • Technical Leader: Use your technical background to support technical design decisions, summarizing and communicating both short-term and long-term technical solutions to collaborators for NVIDIA HW and SW product KPI improvement. Prioritize and drive key initiatives and projects with focused management and technical support, providing input based on your teams’ discoveries. Support building strong technical expertise in your team.

  • Coaching and Growing Your Team: With the challenges of a partially remote team, you’ll look for ways to foster a cohesive team culture, idea proliferation, and the pursuit of engineering excellence. Plan and implement joint team events such as all-hands meetings and focused strategic workshops, virtual and in-person. Take an active role in encouraging ongoing career development. Promote and support your team’s external and internal facing activities. Hire the best talent to develop a diversified team.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Your ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences as a presenter or one on one is crucial to your teams’ success. Work with Company leadership in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation. Collaborate across the engineering organizations as you advocate for next generation HW and SW products. Develop and build relationships with all employees to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations.

  • Process Improvement: Drive improvement and promote best practices- Identify variances in execution, driving horizontal projects to enhance technical and productivity aspects. Review and implement improvements to the organizational structure, addressing knowledge and skills gaps. Improve current processes and optimize procedures for increased efficiency and productivity. Streamline and facilitate inter-organizational communications.

What we need to see:

  • An MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a related computationally focused science degree (or equivalent experience).

  • 7+ overall years of relevant experience with 4+ years in a technical role and 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role.

  • You’ve kept close to emerging AI technologies while you practiced leadership and refined your communication and partnering skills. You feel ready to take the next step where your decisions are even more impactful to the Company’s success.

  • A technology background in performance optimization that includes parallel programming, e.g., CUDA, OpenMP, MPI, pthreads, etc.

  • Programming fluency in C/C++ with a deep understanding of algorithms, software development. Hands- on experience with low level performance optimizations.

  • In-depth expertise with CPU and GPU architecture fundamentals.

  • Proven experience with recruiting top talent

  • Proven track record of planning and leading critical initiatives.

  • Excellent written and presentation skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • A PhD in a relevant field is highly valued.

  • Expertise in parallelization and performance optimization of Deep Learning training and inference arising from Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Recommender Systems, etc.

  • Experience optimizing the performance of distributed database systems and frameworks (e.g. production in-memory database or Spark).

  • Excellent understanding of linear algebra.

Artificial intelligence, the dream of computer scientists for over half a century, is no longer science fiction. And in the next few years, it will transform every industry. Soon, self-driving cars will reduce congestion and improve road safety. AI travel agents will know your preferences and arrange every detail of your family vacation. And medical instruments will read and understand patient DNA to detect and treat early signs of cancer. Where engines made us stronger and powered the first industrial revolution, AI will make us enhance our abilities and power the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
