Staff Engineer - DBaas (NDB)

Opportunity - 

We are looking for a Server System Engineer with a solid background in proof of concept, and database as a service. We are a small dynamic team building a cloud-native relational database engine to run on our leading hyper-converged infrastructure in both public and private clouds. You will be joining as one of the founding members within this dynamic team. As a founding member, you are involved in all software development phases with end-to-end responsibility for one or more major components. You will also collaborate our virtual storage and networking experts to demonstrate Nutanix infrastructure to its full potential in the database engine. Your Role:

• Architect, design and develop multi-hybrid cloud enterprise life cycle management software for Databases.
• Architect, design and develop efficient, flexible, scalable, and robust software systems/components
• Develop deep understanding of customer use cases of various databases in secondary environment and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.
• Work on defining functionality that is easy-to-use, intuitive to customers.
• Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow methodical approach to design that is future ready and scalable.

What you'll bring:

• Experience working in Microservices,  Kubernetes, Cloud Saas, Cloud Native applications.
• Experience working with enterprise software development in one of the domains (Web Services: (REST APIs, Java Web Services, Scalable Systems, Security, RBAC),
• Databases – (SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, PostGres, SAP/HANA etc), Linux Systems and Storage - (SAN/NAS/HCI), Virtualization) Optional/Nice to have.
• Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Java, Python or C++
• Must be able to write efficient code with high quality.
• Experience with object oriented concepts and design is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required with 12-17year’s experience. Advanced degree in Computer Science preferred

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $158,400 and $316,800/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
