Senior Software Engineer - DBaaS (Sql Server) – San Jose, CA

Opportunity - 

We are looking for a Software Engineer with a solid background in Software development, and database as a service. We are a small dynamic team within Nutanix that is working on a DBaaS product, NDB, targeting a multi-billion-dollar market. NDB enables managing and operating databases. It enables standardization across an organization's database estate while introducing efficiency, agility, scalability, and cost savings. We work closely with our product in a collegiate, collaborative environment that encourages the open exploration of ideas. At Nutanix, you'll find no shortage of challenging problems to work on. Your Role - 

• Architect, design and develop enterprise life cycle management software for Microsoft SQL Sever database in NDB product.
• Good understanding of web application architecture, design patterns and enterprise integration patterns
• Develop a deep understanding of use cases and design innovative solutions for customer requirements.
• Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

 You will bring - 

• Experience working with/ Programming in Windows.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database, Windows Storage Stack, Volume Shadow Copy Service(VSS)
• Experience working with Storage Devices, Hypervisors ( ESX), Networking.
• Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Python, Java, C++, Java ideally for enterprise-quality software
• Experience with virtualization technologies

Preferred

• Experience working with OOP, using REST API calls.
• Understanding of cloud solutions architecture  

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Advanced degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Experience of 7-12 years in developing enterprise software.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $134,400 and $267,600/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
