Infrastructure Engineer - Outcome Engineering (Durham, NC)

 Are you an experienced Systems & Network engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Do you enjoy leveraging automations, alerting, and tooling to keep a large-scale environment running and operational? If so, the Outcome Engineering Team at Nutanix is looking for an experienced Systems and Network engineer to join us as we seek to automate and continuously deliver a robust environment for our technical sales teams.

The Outcome Engineering team is responsible for building tools and services used by the Nutanix field sales organization all over the globe, including a public website to facilitate product demonstration and a private cloud of Nutanix clusters used for customer proof of concept and training exercises. In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for the support of Nutanix field SEs and operation of our production lab infrastructure environments.

 Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain, highly available infrastructure services
• OS builds and configuration management using CI/CD methodologies
• Systems and Network: Design, deploy, operate, and maintain
• Support our pre-sales engineers by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the products and services we provide in our production lab
• Lifecycle maintenance for infrastructure hardware and management software
• Documenting procedures, standards, and troubleshooting articles (KB)
• Asset management
• Occasional hands-on time with hardware in local data center
• Monitoring of hardware and applications

Required Skills:

• Ability to automate repeatable procedures
• Comfort with Git / version control software
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines/automation tools
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP)
• Experience in both Windows and Linux environments
• Strong analytical problem solving
• Good verbal and written communication
• Server and Desktop Virtualization
• Windows Server
• Active Directory, DNS
• PowerShell
• Networking: CCNA equivalent proficiency
• Infrastructure and application monitoring

• Bachelor’s Degree (Information Systems or related field)
• 3y+ experience: Systems Engineering in large enterprise

• AWS and Azure automation
• JavaScript, BASH, and Python
• AD Group Policy Management
• AD Sites & Services
• ADFS / SAML Authentication
• Arista Network Administration
• VPN/NATs/Firewalls
• Grafana and Prometheus
• Microsoft DFS w/DFSR
• VDI / Desktop Virtualization
• Knowledge of Nutanix hardware and software
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Azure infrastructure products
