About the Role

Simulation is at the core of autonomy safety validation and software iteration. Autonomy engineers use simulation to improve their algorithms, and our Safety team uses simulation to validate our autonomy software for real-world deployment. Your work will have a direct impact on Nuro’s autonomous driving stack and safety framework.

About the Work

• Design and build highly scalable and performant simulation systems, data pipelines, frameworks and tools.
• Build simulation systems that provide credible signals to inform autonomy development and accelerate the development velocity.
• Build simulation systems that support the safety and validation strategy.
• Build powerful analysis framework for SW and HW feature development.

About You

• You have 5+ years of experience working in C++, Python or similar languages.
• You have a background in simulation, robotics, or engineering large complex systems and pipelines. 
• You have sharp, rigorous, and thorough problem solving skills. 
• You are experienced in software engineering fundamentals, system design and data analysis. You have good familiarity with C++ and python.
• You have start-up DNA: You have demonstrated an ability to thrive in the ambiguity of a dynamic, start-up environment or have the DNA to do so

Bonus Points

• Strong Linux background
• Cloud computing background
• Experience in AV simulation or similar areas
• Experience in Docker & Kubernetes and large-scale distributed systems
• Experience in 3D graphics and modeling
• Experience with compute accelerators (GPU, FPGA, ASIC)

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $202,350 and $303,050 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
