About the Role

Our software team is growing, and we are looking for talented engineers to join us and be instrumental to one of our Fleet Infrastructure teams.

About the Work

As a software engineering intern, you will work closely with leading experts in the field of software infrastructure. Depending on your skill sets and areas of interest, you will work on some or all of the following:

  • Onboard Systems: Onboard systems creates the software architecture, runtime frameworks, and protocols to orchestrate
    various onboard modules and compute platforms to work in a reliable and resource-efficient manner, to achieve the level of safety required for autonomy.
  • Fleet Connectivity: Fleet Connectivity builds real-time infrastructure, platforms and services to enable Nuro’s fully
    connected fleets. We work on the tech stack across the cloud as well as our robots to build reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions for cloud to robot communications to advance our entire autonomous software development and enable scalable fleet operations.
  • Devices Platform: Devices platform works with the hardware and autonomy engineering teams to enable the use of new
    compute and sensor components/devices on Nuro’s self-driving vehicles

About You

  • You are a current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field graduating December 2023 or later
  • You have experience in one or more of the following areas: backend API design, applications development, large-scale distributed systems; data storage and processing systems; advanced algorithms using C++ and Python; machine learning, multithreading; x86 architecture; and software performance tuning and optimization, robotics software frameworks, different compute modalities (CPU, GPU, FPGA) etc.
  • You have strong problem solving and programming skills.

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $11,500 and $14,000/month. Your actual base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.   

You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by your hire date to be eligible to start the role. Proof of vaccination will be required by your start date. Nuro will consider and review accommodation requests based on medical, religious, or other grounds as required by applicable law for qualified candidates.
