Software Development Engineer in Test

The Software Development Engineer in Test at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, Wisconsin will be involved in end-to-end testing of web applications. Perform functional, integration and regression testing on test and QA environment. Design manual and automation test cases in Xray tool using Gherkin language after analyzing Acceptance Criteria and design documents of the story. Perform Restful APIs testing using POSTMAN tool. Execute automated test cases for UI and API Testing using VS code. Work with Team to assess and establish baseline test maturity to drive consistent testing standards throughout Sprints and CI and CD delivery path. Work with Kibana dashboard for time-series analytics and log sharing. Create Test Plan and Test Strategies in Jira tool for the quarterly release. Assist manager with preparing release report and deployment checklist documents on Confluence tool before and after production deployment. Code review and deploying build to test environment. Report and track bugs using Jira tool. Work with team in investigating and resolving production issues. Execute DB queries on MySQL to retrieve and manage test data. Perform Smoke test on production environment after deployment. Telecommuting permissible twice a week. Salary $105,914 - $168,350 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Information Systems or related field plus 2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field plus five years of progressive experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. Experience must include 2 years with each of the following: (1) mobile or web testing experience with iOS and Android; (2) RESTful services automation; (3) STLC, SDLC, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment; (4) HTML, CSS, REST APIs, JSON, RDBMS, XML, YAML, XCODE, and Android Studio; (5) Git and Jira; (6) AWS, Azure, and Containerization; (7) Java, JavaScript, .NET, and Python; (8) Shift Left, BDD, TDD, and 3 amigos; and (9) confluence, Kibana, and sauce labs.
