WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a category lead for our Nike Direct and Global Places and Spaces businesses: RETAIL AND PLACES. Someone who has deep category expertise to support global category strategy development & localization to serve the EMEA landscape.

The ideal candidate needs to provide thought leadership for the Retail & Places category, working with key business leaders to develop category strategies that optimize the spend and value creation opportunities in this category.

Strategic thinking, communication & influencing skills will be necessary to operate in the global matrix environment.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, core to this role is category management, stakeholder engagement & supplier relationship management.

You’ll be working as part of the EMEA Retail & Places category team focusing primarily on Retail to develop category strategies and implementation plans that support the following Global Procurement priorities:

  • Deliver Savings (Cost reduction and Cost avoidance to create Capacity for Growth);
  • Supplier Base Management;
  • Develop category strategies in close alignment with business stakeholders that include:
  • -Buying Channel Strategy
  • -Preferred Supplier Ecosystem
  • -Tail Management

You will work closely with the global and other geo category teams to develop the global category strategy and will guide the development of the strategic plans for EMEA. . You will be responsible for  identifying key stakeholders and working with them to build consensus and alignment of the sourcing strategies and associated sourcing projects. You will work closely with the sourcing managers within the team to drive and execute the implementation of the sourcing strategy. You will play a key role in sourcing execution.

When it comes to supplier relationship management, you will identify the relevant key vendors and execute the supplier relationship program with these vendors in close collaboration with the business stakeholders.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

This is the Nike matrix: Within our NIKE Matrix organization, you will be a member of  the EMEA Procurement Team and partnering with the associated Global Procurement Team. You will be reporting to the Director of Retail & Places Procurement EMEA and working closely with your key-stakeholders across the Nike Direct and GPS Teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Relevant work experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Category Management experience in international environment.
  • Global perspective and experience in sourcing and procurement processes, supply base and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills gained across a range of cultural environments.
  • Proven experience consulting with business partners, including independently identifying business partner needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
  • Experience in spend management practices such as demand management, compliance management, supplier collaboration and/or performance management.
  • Proven record of winning hearts and minds of their teams, inspiring people to innovate, take calculated risk, coach and support them through the process.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends, identify standard methodologies, and manage supporting contract development activities.
  • Being brave, self-assured and knowledgeable to present and convince any audiences on a proposed approach.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and make an impact in a rapid paced Procurement Organization.
  • Passionate for the NIKE brands, mission, values and paths.
  • Willingness to coach and learn.
