As a Software Engineer with Nextdoor, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) (100% Telecommuting permitted) you’ll: 

• Work with cross-functional and agile teams to translate product requirements into user-facing applications to support company growth
• Analyze and understand end-users' needs and then design, develop, and test software to meet those needs
• Design each piece of an application and/or system and plan functional operations
• Ensure maintenance of program functions through software maintenance and testing
• Collaborate with and provide feedback to other computer specialists to create optimal software
• Develop and improve networking, analytics, experiments, modular application structure
• Test infrastructure and make direct contributions to products
• Deliver product features on Android application and mentor other team members

What You’ll Bring to The House

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related field
• Four (4) years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in the position offered or as an Android Engineer/Developer, or closely related position
• Must have demonstrated experience in the following: Developing software at all levels of software delivery lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, testing, development, documentation, code review) utilizing Agile methodology; Utilizing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to develop android framework, OkHttp and Retrofit Android library; Writing integrated test framework using Java unit testing framework (Junit), Mockito, and Espresso technologies to test codes for bugs in development phase; Utilizing Model-View, viewModel and RxJava to create User Interface Architecture for Android application; Building Continuous Integration process to improve code stability and code quality using Jenkins; Writing/modifying source codes and correct defects utilizing Object-Oriented programming languages, including Javascript/React, and Kotlin; Utilizing Dagger to provide dependency injection across Android applications; and Automating the creation of applications utilizing Gradle

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $169,600 - $233,200/year on an annualized basis. 

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
