As a Software Engineer with Nextdoor, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) (100% Telecommuting permitted) you’ll:

• Work with cross-functional and agile teams to translate product requirements into user-facing applications to support company growth
• Analyze and understand end-users' needs and then design, develop, and test software to meet those needs
• Design each piece of an application and/or system and plan functional operations
• Ensure maintenance of program functions through software maintenance and testing
• Collaborate with and provide feedback to other computer specialists to create optimal software
• Create a variety of models and diagrams (such as flowcharts) that show programmers the software code needed for an application
• Document every aspect of an application or system as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades

What You’ll Bring to The House

• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field
• Two (2) years of progressive, post-bachelor’s experience in the position offered or as a Software/Application Developer, Principal Engineer, or closely related position
• Must have demonstrated experience in the following: Developing software at all levels of software delivery lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, testing, development, documentation, code review) utilizing Agile, Jira and Scrum methodology; Utilizing Javascript and Python to write and modify source codes and correct defects; Utilizing to React, GraphQL, SQL Framework to design Application Programming Interfaces (APIs); Designing and implementing scalable systems architecture, data schema, and database; Working in a globally distributed cloud infrastructure environment; Planning, implementing, and analyzing product changes as experiments; Modifying existing and creating new data pipelines for other analytics to be performed; and Maintaining and reacting to external-facing SLAs and acting as oncall for internal-facing systems

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $144,000 - $198,000/year on an annualized basis. 

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
