About NexHealth

Our healthcare system is frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you have to call to schedule an appointment with a doctor and are still handed a clipboard to fill in a form? NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare. We’re doing this by connecting patients, doctors, and developers. We’re the first to fully automate the integration with health record systems, paving the way for a new generation of disruptive health-tech companies.

Here's some of what we've accomplished:

  1. $125M Series C at $1B valuation
  2. Manage more than 38 million patient records
  3. 100%+ annual revenue growth
  4. Top 10% of Inc. 5000 (2022)

SaaS Engineering at NexHealth

On the SaaS team, you’ll build insanely great software that attracts new patients, improves the relationship between patients and their doctors, and helps our customers’ businesses thrive. We directly solve the frustratingly analog challenges in the healthcare system with our software, including features like one-click online booking, digital forms, and automation for patient communications.

What You’ll Do:

As the second iOS engineer on the SaaS team, you’ll play a big role in building the future of our app, and the app development team at NexHealth. Our primary product is a digital forms application for iPads, and in the future we imagine delivering a full patient experience with a NexHealth app: managing medical records, booking appointments, messaging your doctors, and more.

  • Rapidly come up to speed on our existing codebase
  • Work with our current iOS engineer to implement new features and functionality
  • Work with backend and full-stack engineers to build a cohesive and consistent user experience for filling out forms
  • Cultivate best practices for native iOS development
  • Build on top of our universal health record API
  • Interview new engineers and grow our native iOS development team

What You’ll Bring:

  • Have been responsible in whole or in part for the development and long-term maintenance of a multi-platform iOS application written in Swift. Our team is small, and we need someone who can handle all aspects of the app lifecycle, not just take tickets and ship code.
  • Familiar with Objective-C. Can read and understand the legacy parts of our codebase. Most of the app is in Swift, but there are a few areas that have not been updated.
  • Have worked on an app that’s part of a broader product ecosystem. Our native app does not work in isolation, it’s part of our comprehensive SaaS offering and tightly integrates with our backend and provider experience product.
  • Seen greatness, and know how to get us from here to there.
  • Familiar with the basics. We use Slack, Github, JIRA, Notion, and practice agile development.

NexHealth Operating Principles

  • Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.
