Staff Software Engineer (Backend, Core Product Foundation)

About the Role

As the Staff Engineer for the Business Logic domain in Miro, this person will be responsible for owning the technical strategy for the entire area, leading and mentoring a group of highly skilled engineers to achieve our business critical goals. The Business Logic area touches everything we do in Miro and is a critical part of the evolution of our product, you will responsible for crafting our Business Logic as a Service offering, defining the strategy for creating a sustained and reliable data model to achieve data consistency across the business as well as supporting teams in creating clarity and guidance when splitting business logic from the monolith to separate services.

About the Team

The Business Logic team is an integral part of our core product foundation stream in Miro, touching every area of engineering and the business. Currently, we are focused on critical projects to improve our Data Residency, Business Logic as a Service, and our overall Business Logic Architecture where teams are currently working on migrating Business Logic components from the monolith to the separate services, in close collaboration with teams across the business.

What you’ll do

• Build a sustained and reliable data model for Business Logic, with a focus on stability and performance
• Lead the technical strategy and implementation for migrating Business logic components from the monolith to the separate services
• Designing and implementing effective Business Logic API
• Execute on and contribute to the overall business logic strategy
• Guide a team of engineers, to help your team develop

What you’ll need

• Strong background in Java, and Spring framework
• Experience with microservice architecture, designing distributed systems in such architecture
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in senior/architect role
• Experience building, launching and running mission-critical, high-performance, distributed systems
• Experience coaching/mentoring software development engineers
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence both technical individual contributors and senior stakeholders
