Software Engineer II

We're expanding the Azure OpenAI services team, a rapidly growing area within Azure, delivering the innovative GPT model family to our customers. We ensure these services are secure, compliant, and reliable, enabling customers to manage their AI operations confidently. The field is advancing quickly, introducing new features and models, presenting numerous challenges and opportunities to address our customers' evolving needs.

In this role, you'll influence the full spectrum of our services, collaborating with technology providers to integrate their AI solutions into Azure, creating premier services. We're seeking software engineers who are eager to enhance Azure AI's performance, availability, scalability, and user experience by leveraging the latest in open source and cloud technologies and engineering practices throughout our software framework.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Characteristics: Smart, excellent analytics & problem-solving skills, quality mindset, passionate
• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
• Languages: C#/Java/PowerShell/Python/Go
• 3+ years of architecture, /system design/OO design/product development experience
• Experiences with Web API/Load Testing/Security/Privacy
• Demonstrated technical design, problem solving, coding and debugging skills
• Experiences with Cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure
• Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps or other Engineer System.

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Required qualifications:

• Design and build scalable, high-performance services that are highly reliable, secure and easy to diagnose.
• Design and implement new features, along with enhancing the functionality of existing systems.
• Investigate pre-production and production issues, implement and deploy fixes
• Participate in an on-call rotation (typically 14 hours per day for one week every 3 months)
• Write concise and clean code with unit tests
