Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain.  CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide

 

Team Overview: 

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to help us deliver highly scalable services and world-class product experiences. In this role, you will have opportunities to work on multiple layers of the technology stack, ranging from customer-focused user experience work, building scalable distributed cloud services, working with big data, machine learning, and everything in between. If you are comfortable working in a start-up enviroment, enjoy creating and incrementally marching towards a well-defined long-term architecture, and are motivated by solving hard business process problems with technology, then this could be the position for you.   

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with End to End feature release

Other Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience in AI using Github Copilot or other LLM technologies.
  • Experience in Supply Chain.
  • Ability to quickly pick up existing concepts and employ new techniques.
  • Experience working across disciplines, groups, and teams.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, organization and communication skills

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
