Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database are world-class relational database systems widely used across the globe on everything from small devices and servers to some of the largest cloud deployments in the world. The amount of data being generated in the world is soaring and AI is transforming how processing this data would shape the future. With this dramatic transformation, integrating AI with the data platform is crucial. Customers need to be able to run Intelligent applications and rich services that provide deep insights from data. An intelligent application should be able to process PBs of data more efficiently as well as more intelligently (in terms of being able to run the AI model of their choice and extract smart insights from it). All of this must be done while supporting high availability, predictability and elasticity. Sounds interesting?

Qualifications:  

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD with work or research experience in computer science or related field. 
• 5+ years of programming experience in C++ OR C# OR Java 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Sound problem-solving skills with strong system sensibilities 
• Proficient in C++, C#, Java or other high-level languages. 

• Good understanding of database system internals, query processing, and storage systems. 
• Experience in building and shipping production grade software or services. 
• High enthusiasm, integrity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness. 
• Work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions, and celebrate successes. 
• Solve problems by always leading with deep passion and empathy for customers. 

Responsibilities: 

As an engineer in the Intelligent Query Processing in Azure SQL Database, you will work on the latest technology in query processing. You will explore the AI integration into Query processing. You will work on challenges like, how to make query processing itself more autonomous, intelligent and learning-based.
