Our team is a highly collaborative group of creative people including user researchers, product designers, UX Engineers, content designers, prototypers, illustrators, and more. We are looking for a Sr. UX Engineer to help us build the future of product experiences at Microsoft. This role offers the opportunity to significantly elevate the quality and craft of the experiences we ship. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of Microsoft's offerings, ensuring they meet the highest standards of excellence and innovation
The candidate has experience building design systems and is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for getting the details right. They understand that the backbone of creating excellent, and accessible web experiences are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - the fundamental building blocks of the web. They know these technologies down to the core - their strengths and their weaknesses. Their deep understanding of these technologies allows them to make informed architectural decisions and appropriate trade-offs when necessary.
- 5+ years of engineering experience working with front-end technologies such as but not limited to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript
- 4+ years experience shipping production-ready code as a result of a collaborative process working in product or service design
- GitHub or other links showcasing your development skills OR a UI/UX portfolio is required
- Experience working with HTML custom elements or Web Component libraries (lit, FAST, etc)
- Working knowledge of visual design tools such as Figma
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively cross functionally with other teams (Design, Research, Engineering, PM)
- Demonstrate attention to detail, with the ability to match redlines and design specs
- Passion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiences
- A desire to find out how things work and how to make them better
- The ability to wear many hats and contribute across disciplines
- An interest in web-standards, technology, and trends, with an eye toward the future
