Senior Software Engineer

The Identity for Services (ID4S) team is searching for a Senior Software Engineer who can define, build, and evolve integrated platforms at scale. Our team is part of the Identity and Network Access organization in Microsoft, bringing networking, identity, and security together. Our services enable people around the world to be productive while meeting organizational security and compliance needs. Our services are built to solve security challenges for our customers in a seamless and integrated way.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related Technical Discipline AND 4+ years Technical Engineering Experience with Coding in Languages including, but not limited to, .NET, C, C++, C#. etc.
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of working experience with .NET Programming Language

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Contributions to open source software projects 
• API Design Experience

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

• Design and develop identity libraries which enable internal and external services to validate requests securely, observably, with high performance and extensibility.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews.
