Senior Silicon PD CAD Infrastructure Engineer

PD CAD Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the forefront of solving complex problems and building systems that require a deep understanding of hardware and software principles; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our world class Silicon Engineering teams worldwide.

You will be building smart and efficient CAD solutions for the infrastructure, regression builds, design-flows, Quality checks & Analytics and pioneering, path-clearing & deploying the latest EDA technologies related to Physical design Implementation, various sign-offs requirements and SOC tape-out flows.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of Solid PD Infrastructure development, expertise in Synopsys, Cadence and/or other equivalent tools
• 3+ years of programming skills in the following languages: Python TCL, Perl, SQL, UNIX bash/Makefile
• Knowledge of Physical Design CAD flows and how design being converged.
• Strong background in database collection and management, with experience in uploading telemetry and tracking data into a centralized database.
• Experience with Flow Automation, task Monitoring, QOR dashboarding, QOR comparison and reporting tools to create visualizations and reports to centrally monitor and analyze the data.
• Sufficient knowledge and good understanding of RTL2GDSII physical design and sign-off flows
• Exposure to Silicon design setup/environment, compute requirements used for silicon product development.

Preferred Qualifications:  

Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable.  

• Master’s degree in computer or electrical engineering with a specialization in VLSI
• Solid scripting experience in Python, TCL & shell
• Understanding functional domains of FE model releases, DV, Handoff, Chip Synthesis, Signoff & Dashboards etc.,   
• Hands-on experience with flow orchestration tools such as Altair FlowTracer, and compute batch schedulers such as Altair Accelerator.
• Experience in building & maintaining PD Infra. 
• Solid experience in driving & working closely with EDA partners to improve their offerings.

In this role you will: 

• Support and enhance Design infrastructure to support multi site execution,
• Provide guidance and feedback to infrastructure requirements, dashboards & extensibility for future collaborative execution.
• Troubleshoot and debug Infrastructure issues and provide solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Document and communicate execution results, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Develop industry fraemworks, support for design dashboard and summarize actionable results to the design organization.
• Engage with software community for database management, data storing & retrieving, data sanity checks,
• Perform in-depth root-cause analysis, issue debug and qualification for Microsoft’s broad Silicon portfolio.
• Collaborate with EDA partners to determine/drive optimal and cutting-edge solutions for effective & efficient CAD solutions.

Work with US & India teams that drive specifications and methodology to refine and implement CAD infrastructure.
