Network Sourcing Engineer

We're looking for an experienced and motivated network sourcing engineer to support, influence and deliver Network infrastructure sourcing/acquisition services in a fast-paced production environment—you must be agile and able to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.

The successful candidate will need excellent analytical, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills. You will be working with people from many different teams and backgrounds requiring an open mind-set. You must be able to influence others and work cross-functionally to achieve broad goals. A proven track record of successfully managing projects, successful past & existing experience in network sourcing (terrestrial, subsea, satellite etc.) in telcos / cloud / AI service providers. Managing stakeholders is a crucial skillset that needs to be demonstrated resulting in measurable impact to be successful in this role.

Required Qualifications: 

• BS or BA degree (In lieu of degree, 3 years relevant work experience)
• Industry experience with regard to Network sourcing/acquisition and contracting - including Colocation sourcing, Metro and Long Haul Dark Fiber acquisition and lit wavelengths; including understanding of permitting and ROW
• 3+ years of experience in networking and/or data center technologies
• Solid understanding of Geospatial data and related analysis technologies
• 3+ years of Program Management or equivalent Engineering experience leading, defining and delivering projects or services

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 3+ years of experience in Network, Data Center/Colo sourcing/acquisition and contracting
• Solid working understanding of domestic and global carrier networks
• Depth of experience presenting/communicating to executives and c-suite leadership
• Great problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills.
• Business Acumen demonstrated through prior work or education
• Self-driven and ability to work with minimal direction
• Technical experience with databases, data integration and data access technologies
• Experience with a data driven/metrics-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn and improve

• Build strategic relationships with vendors and industry experts.
• Communicate progress internally and collaborate with network deployment teams.

Partner and ensure contracting compliance with service suppliers, legal team and physical security teams for continuous and consistent rigor with regard to ensuring appropriate terms and conditions based on service type.
