Cloud Network Engineer - Automation

The Azure Fiber team in Romsey is seeking a methodical and dependable candidate with energy and a passion for innovation to join our team. You will be working on high value and specialist fiber manufacturing equipment at our state-of-the-art fiber facility. The equipment will deliver fabrication technologies for radically novel optical fibers, including glass preform manufacture, optical fiber drawing and associated processes. The role will involve close interaction with the Engineering, Production and R&D teams to facilitate and support the development of fabrication methods for the next generation fibers and turn them into robust and reliable volume manufacturing processes. As such, this is a hands-on role based in Romsey, UK.

Required Qualifications: 

• Mid-level to senior experience in working on automation of network equipment and interface them with cloud.
• Several years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND some years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation
  • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND a few year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• You develop network components (e.g., device, software, tools) based on customer, business, and technical requirements that have been defined in partnership with engineering and Program Management teams; ensures that designs meet all functional, performance, scale, and compliance requirements with minimal guidance.
